Since the 1970’s Stephen has been a Chartered Surveyor and Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers, working predominantly in East Anglia with two national firms of surveyors.

In 2012 Stephen joined with Will Barton to form Fletcher Barton Ltd, having been a sole practitioner since 2008.

During his working career Stephen has held the position of Chairman of the Land & Business division of Bidwells, as well as being an Equity Partner of Strutt & Parker.

Stephen runs his family farm in Suffolk and a Care Farm, as well as being a professional Trustee.

Stephen is married with grown up children and enjoys sailing, tennis, conservation and art.
